When Crochet Turns Abstract: Free Granny Afghan Pattern

Lion Brand yarn Afghan

Unusual & Fabulous Granny Afghan

Many crocheters write in about doing afghans like this. It’s a fabulous granny afghan that is so abstract. It will mess with your eyes. It’s an art form unto itself.

This free pattern by Lion Brand Yarns is stunning. This type of afghan is on my bucket list. I just love how it doesn’t look uniform. The free pattern gives you the keys you need to work out an afghan like this. Some of the complaints I have heard about this afghans is sometimes hitting a road block on squares not working out properly. Look carefully though, not all of the blocks are square!

Try this Variation Granny Afghan Pattern. It just might be the coolest largest project you work on this year. Use your free membership at Lion Brand Yarns to access this pattern.

Love the retro look of this. I bought the yarn last night and started it. Just a few comments…use a magic ring to start it and trap your ends I with the next row as you change color. With 6 color changes on a 3″ square, you’ll drive yourself crazy weaving in the ends!

What do you think? Is Mikey bang on or out to lunch? Leave your thoughts here.
