Let’s Kick Old Man Winter to the Curb and Celebrate Free Spring Patterns

Canadian Maple Leaf

Maple Leaf

From fashion to fun home decor… I scoured Red Heart’s Free Patterns to locate 10 projects that I think are fun for spring.

Right now, the Maple Syrup is dripping and ready to create fabulous pancake breakfasts and much more. I have to admit though, I’ve don’t think I have ever tasted raw syrup. I don’t think Aunt Jemima counts.

The USA Flag is easy to duplicate in crochet… The Canadian Flag, not so much. Finally though, a believable leaf to use for appliques and home decor. My mind is feeling ‘Cannuckee’. I might do one for a hat. For those who don’t know, The Crochet Crowd is Canadian and so am I.

Finally, here are my list of 10 projects worthy of closer inspection.

  1. Maple Leaf
  2. Road Way Throw (Just in time for Construction Season)
  3. Whimsical and Cute Owl Pillow
  4. Pretty Enough for Easter Baby Hat
  5. Just Like Mom Sweet Ruffle Accessory Scarf
  6. Peacock Blue Quick and Cozy for Plants
  7. Fresh and Quick Square Coaster
  8. Wrap & Wrap The Spring Wreath
  9. American Flag Patriotic Throw Pillow
  10. Twirly Mother’s Day Wreaths

Well that’s it for this week. I will keep looking around. My search actually made me stumble on other projects that I didn’t know about. There were a couple Christmas Patterns that I really liked but who wants to think of Christmas when Spring is taking so long to come.

  1. I love your patterns and would love to do some of them. My stumbling block is what are the types of wool when translated into English, as this is where I live, England. I would buy your wool but would like an idea of how thick the wool is for the lacy afghan in Raspberry for example. It is beautiful but I cannot have anything too heavy on my legs. Also what is the price in GMP as apposed to dollars? I hope you do not mind me using this way of asking you but I am not very pc litterate.

I love your Blog, and being a Canadian myself makes it even more special to me. By the way…my family had a maple syrup business and “raw maple syrup” is ultra sweet. 😉

Thanks for all those great patterns mike !

  4. Thanks for the great patterns! I saved quite a few of them for spring hooking.

Thanks Mikey, I have been looking for a maple leaf pattern this morning and you found one ! This will be a perfect addition to a wreath I’m working on. Love this newsletter, it’s inspiring !
