Don’t you hate when someone has a gift of putting colors or items together to make thee perfect combo. It’s like an art of matching items or colors together to give an item a kick.
I will admit, I don’t have that gift of matching colours together. The art of being able to start with a base color and naturally look for accent colors to give the base color that extra special touch. Daniel has this ability but I don’t think it’s a natural gift he has. Daniel will argue with people that his ability to play music professionally is a talent… he says “It’s hard work, practice and determination!” I will share some secrets with you.
Secrets About Daniel
During Daniel’s university years of studying music. He worked at garden centres and flower shops to pay for his education. The ability to put things together for color combinations, texture and presentation was honed from working in this environment. He realized very quickly that the art of making a beautiful bouquet of flowers, arranging flowers in a garden and finding accenting and interesting flowers and accessories to highlight the arrangement was exciting. It’s like going to the grocery store for a bouquet of flowers that are in a bucket of water, they are nice but just add a few more things and you can turn a $10 bouquet into a $50 bouquet by adding a few more things to make it extra special.
Daniel quickly realized that he had an interest in flowers and gardening. Along with this came the idea of architecture design and love for food. Again, focused on the presentation.
When I met Daniel, 5 years ago, the closets were full of Home & Garden Magazines. For his quiet times, you would see him flip through magazines getting ideas and learning more about color combos and get further inspiration. He has the ability to go into the backyard and design a gorgeous bouquet or outdoor pot display.
Daniel got an iPad about 3 years ago. He still gets magazines but now are all in digital format. He reads these magazines thoroughly. Since Pinterest has come out. Daniel spends hours, sometimes every day, searching through Pinterest for landscaping, flowers and color ideas.
Daniel would argue that his gift for colors and design isn’t a natural gift. It’s a skill learned over years of experience in an area of life that interests him. He remembers combinations and ideas that work together. Having this knowledge allows him to easily, painlessly and quickly choose colors! In fact, I can stand in front an Yarn Aisle for up to 1/2 hour and Daniel will come along and have the colors in my hand in less than a minute. Trust me… that aggravates me to no end.
