Inspiration Unlike Any Other for Crocheters

Cirque du Soleil, Worlds Away Movie on Canadian Netflix

Daniel and I have been preparing very hard for Creativ Festival coming up on October 25 – 27th. It is our largest consumer show that we bring The Crochet Crowd to life.

If you have Netflix and you are Canadian, you will find the Cirque du Soleil Worlds Away on your movie line up.

I’ve had the opportunity to attend two Cirque Du Soleil shows. Both were in the late 80’s before the Cirque du Soleil became world renown. For my family back in the 80’s, we questioned how can a Circus be a circus without animals.

Over the past 2 nights, we have watched this twice already. I asked Daniel if he had ever seen the Cirque du Soleil live. He said No and I thought, let’s watch this one.

We were both hooking away and before we knew it, we were mesmerized by the costumes, make up, performance, customized music and theatrics of Worlds Away. You are sucked into the fantasy world of the Cirque and taken away on a journey. The choreography and imagery presented are flawless.

While I was reading pretty pathetic negative reviews about this movie. People being bored and so on… I thought to myself… this is a crocheters dream movie. The colours, ideas, and costumes are flooded with inspiration. See what colours are working together.

Watch the set changes and movements of all of the stage equipment to realize how many people are involved in creating this imaginary world. Teams of performances working together in unison. If one person goes out of sync, it ruins the entire performance. It strives for perfection and delivers just that. For anyone to say the movie is boring, least in my opinion, is someone that lacks imagination and ignores the inspiration and ideas that humans are capable of presenting.

So in closing… if you are watching this movie, immerse yourself, feel the music… close your eyes and listen… Let your child-like imagination come up from your soul and truly feel the wonder you have within yourself.

Needless to say we didn’t get much crocheting done during both times of this movie… both of us were floored and over powered by the inspiration that we couldn’t help but watch with wonder… before we knew it… the movie was over and we were struck with awe.

So turn off your critical mind and activate your creative mind… you may see this movie from a perspective that you never thought was possible.

I Saw the Cirque Totem a few years ago with a friend who passed away last year from cancer. I am so glad we had the chance to go together. It is an experience that I will never forget.

I was privileged to see this movie in the theatres and our family loved it! The magic, the music, the colour and the movement kept me glued to my seat the entire time. We’ve been lucky to see the Quidam show live and this one in theatres/3D. Our family gives it 8 enthusiastic thumbs up!

I can’t wait to see what inspirations of design you came up with from this show!

What do you think? Is Mikey bang on or out to lunch? Leave your thoughts here.
