Now Accepting Ideas for Celebrating 100,000 Fans on Facebook

The Crochet Crowd has really surged this year in popularity on Facebook.

We started this year off at 17,000 fans and are now quickly approaching 80,000. It is predicted that we will be at the 100,000 fan mark in October 2013 at some point.

Daniel and I were sitting down during our weekly ‘check in meeting’ that we conduct to see what we did right, what we did wrong and where we can go in the future. He was strongly suggesting we do something big to celebrate 100,000 fans on Facebook!

The question is… “What should be do to celebrate our 100,000 Fans on Facebook?”

Leave me your comments below with your ideas. No idea is too big or too small. How should be celebrate this remarkable accomplishment?

About Mikey, The Crochet Crowd

I am Mikey, owner of The Crochet Crowd Blog. I'm a 'hooker' at heart with the passion to crochet. I am from Ontario Canada and teach how to crochet online through YouTube Video Tutorials. From a simple idea and being at the right place and time in my life back in 2008, the concept of The Crochet Crowd was developed. I'm here to hook and share. Come follow my crochet journey and share yours with comments here and you are most welcome to share your creativity within our Facebook page.

  1. Frankie Zacharias says:

I think you should just keep doing what your doing, if it had not been for your great tutorials I would not be able to crochet as good as I do. I have learned a lot from you and hope you can continue to inspire people for years to come 🙂

  2. kylie brophy says:

A crochet challenge with words in it… written in filet crochet

  3. Ronald Sommer says:

I think that the perfect celebration would be to expand the offering of patterns to include more items of use to men, i.e., men´s scarves, sweaters, heavy socks, jackets, hats, etc.

  4. Marie-Jose says:

Why not a crochet pattern, “filet style” or more .like an embroidery pattern.,to be able to write down “the Crochet Crowd” in any projects we/you feel appropriate….on a hat or scarf etc …so we can make it wear it…show to the world “who got the most balls!” …The Crochet Crowd of course!….???? 😉

  5. What ever is decided, I just want you to know that without you, and of course Diva Dan, there would be no Crochet Crowd. The idea of a giveaway excites all of us I’m sure. I would just like to say thank you for starting “The Crochet Crowd”, for all of your tutorials, and for all of the laughs I get watching you talk about all the balls you have!! 😀 Keep up the good work!

  6. Patty Pittala says:

Give us a special downloadable goodie such as a Mikey exclusive pattern for a special crocheted ornament that we can use to make as gifts or donate through Crochet Crowd. Maybe even a download for a special Crochet Crowd logo pattern that we could use for personal use. Or an extra special tutorial/video which will allow us to learn more about what goes into keeping the Crochet Crowd a great site ti interact with.

  7. Lisa Lee says:

Or print up T-shirts that we can order, take our pics, and send them in?

  8. Lisa Lee says:

Does Special Olympics still want scarves every year? If so, we all donate one.

  9. 100,000 ft of yarn giveaway.. random draw.

  10. Rosalie Wright says:

We should form a fan club in each town for Crochet Crowd and have get togethers and work on challenges together. Maybe mini clubs, with charity projects that we donate what each group makes to Mikey’s charities

  11. Dixiei says:

I think it would be wonderful if the 100,000 person received a gift of something Mickie crocheted. In my opinion that would be the best reward because you are “The Crochet Crowd” founder and without your inspiration, motivation, positive attitude and creativity Crochet Crowd would not be what it is today. And I guess you could throw a Crochet Crowd mug in for fun.

  12. Jeanne says:

How about giving away 100,000 yards of yarn.

  13. Marcia Bebbington says:

Everyone crochet an item for donation, take a pic of it and tell who or where you donated it to on behalf of “The Crochet Crowd”.
We could pick one thing like baby caps or chemo caps and get the word out about this awesome group. Might as well make this something altruistic and productive.

  14. Nancy Thorson says:

Everyone should get together in their town or on their own and make a yarn bomb in their community! Place a tag on it ” The Crochet Crowd” then post a pic!

What do you think? Is Mikey bang on or out to lunch? Leave your thoughts here.
