Introducing Tracy ‘Hiatt’ Markland. Tracy is an avid follower of The Crochet Crowd. She caught my attention a few weeks ago when she displayed her newly created Baby Afghan with the little lamb crocheted into the stitch work.
Her afghan is done with Tunisian Crochet. You must admit, there’s an ‘uber cuteness to this project.
Tracy has been crocheting for 13 years. Her hubby’s grandmother showed her how to crochet when she was pregnant with her first child. She admitted that in the beginning she would mess up so bad that she would have to frog her work. Frogging means Ripping it out and restarting it… Rip it Rip it! With determination, she kept going and learned to tackle the afghans. I think many of us can relate to this as it happens to all of us.
Her strongest tip for new crocheters or crocheters in general:
Never Give Up… life is never perfect and the learning process is something to be proud of.
Tracy has made a mini business out of crocheting for others. She decided to take some friendly advice from her friends to try to sell some of her finished projects online. Opening an online business of selling your work isn’t easy. She has learned plenty of lessons and has been successful in marketing and selling her work. She must be doing something right… she has over 1340 likes on her Facebook Page called Tangled in Yarn. If you are looking for inspiration or wanting to talk to Tracy, visit her on her Facebook Page.
In the meantime, you can always visit us at The Crochet Crowd and stay tuned to this blog as I am committed to providing as many useful tips and ideas going forward.
