If any one topic is my absolute hardest acheivement that I haven’t been able to do successfully, I would say it would be finding sponsors where the relationship doubles back into being mutually beneficial for you and the sponsor.
In speaking to many companies, nearly all will agree they will not sponsor someone like me in the form of real dollars. Many are happy to support the idea of products or exchange of products. Exchange would be like I would give you webspace on my channel and you will provide me product. I have heard from very reliable sources that getting sponsors inside the crafting industry is nearly impossible. In fact, you have to look outside of the crafting industry for it.
The economy has really kicked everyone hard. You know it yourself. You would not be looking for sponsors if you didn’t have to. What is the misconception is that I do extremely well. An insider source says I have come into the industry backwards. I have offered free videos. I firmly believe, if I had been charging from Day 1, I wouldn’t be sitting here this morning. I have proven value at no charge to my time or the consumer’s pocket book.
My main mission is to equal the balance beam. How am I to do that? I don’t know yet. I am working on it.
