We had some friends come who had never been to our house before. They had only seen bits and pieces of the house through Videos on YouTube. Our friend, Michael Edwards, stated that he felt like he was on a film studio as a result of being in the house.
Did you know that what you are seeing is not original? If you were to compare our house with the rest of neighbourhood, our interior is a complete gut out and reconstructed by Diva Dan.
Nearly everything you see in our videos has been done by Diva Dan, with exception to making the custom build kitchen islands and wall units in the Kitchen and Living area. Diva Dan spent hundreds of hours renovating and cleaning. Walls of our house are not where they are suppose to be.
We have a very open concept. The house is supposed to be cut up into rooms. In fact, where my studio is, that is supposed to be a bedroom. Walls were removed and square holes in the walls were added to allow the house to be see through.
Have you never noticed the glass blocking in the house. I’ve never intentionally filmed it. Diva Dan cut square holes into the bedrooms and inserted frosted glass blocks. This allows light to transfer to other rooms.
Why was the house gutted?
The house is an inheritance where a family member lived as a hermit. Without heat and water, the house interior was jammed filled with garbage. It took nearly 4 huge dumpsters to empty the house when Diva Dan took over. Due to no water, or heat. There were a lot of issues that needed to be done. The house was stripped down to the joists.
The basement and the upper bathroom are the only areas untouched. The basement, at one time was a beautiful living space. It had to be gutted due to mold and stripped bare. Diva Dan is in process of returning that back to a living space again.
So what you see is complete fabrication. It is noted that when our house was built in the 70’s that it was the show home used to sell the entire neighbourhood. The “before” pictures of this house are absolutely stunning.
I guess because Diva Dan designed and implemented nearly everything on his own (or close to it) that this is a gay man’s dream house! 🙂
